SUMMARY:Kowloon City Route 1 (6 Oct\, 2024\, Sunday)
DESCRIPTION:Departing from To Kwa Wan Station\, the route traverses seven hidden hillocks in Kowloon City. First\, it will pass through Lok Man Sun Chuen and the former Tin Kwong Road Police Quarters\, arriving at Quarry Hill (also known as Red Light Hill)\, where you can experience the grandeur scene of planes taking off and landing from the hilltop. Then\, it goes back to the Lo Lung Hang Hill\, overlooking the scenic views of To Kwa Wan. Next\, it heads to No.12 Hill\, located above Ho Man Tin MTR Station\, which is the hidden place for watching the habour firework. The route continues and will visit Oi Man Estate\, allowing you to experience the unique HK public housing design\, the well-like architecture that offers a view of the sky. The route then goes to the former Kowloon cemetery\, including Ho Man Tin Hill and Waterloo Hill\, passing by the former CLP headquarters\, and arrives at the Kadoorie Hill\, which exhibits Bauhaus building style around the hill\, and also allowing runners to feel the tranquillity within the bustling city. Finally\, it reaches Checkerboard Hill\, which has been repainted in its signature red and white checker pattern in recent years. \nStart time\nRunning group A: 0830 am\nRunning group B: 0845 am\nRunning group C: 0900 am\nRunning group D: 0915 am\nRunning group E: 0930 am \n\nDetail of the heritage run (running)\nDistance: 10km\nTiming: ～3 hours (with an average pace of 8-10 mins/km)\nTarget participants: Individuals aged 16 and above with running experience\nDifficulty: Challenging\, with some trails and uphill sections (Participants should have the stamina to finish a half marathon)\n   \nCost\nParticipation in the event is free of charge. However\, all participants are required to pay a deposit of $100 by credit card\, which will be refunded after attending the event. SUMMARY:Kowloon City Route 2 (13 Oct\, 2024\, Sunday)
DESCRIPTION:Departing from the former HK and Whampoa Dock\, passing through the coastal areas of Hung Hom and To Kwa Wan\, runners experience the scenic views of the Victoria Harbour. Then proceed to the iconic “Fishtail Stone” located in To Kwa Wan promenade\, an erstwhile maritime landmark. Next\, runners will visit the Kowloon City Ferry Pier\, which is a Grade II historic building. Continue on to the Ex-Ma Tau Kok Animal Quarantine Depot\, runners explore the old industrial histroy of To Kwa Wan. Afterward\, runners head to the Kai Tak Sports Park which will soon be opened\, learn about its design\, and appreciate the special design of the pearl like architecture of the main stadium. The route then cross the new Kai Tak Development Area and reach the Kowloon Walled City Park\, where you can delve into the history and remnants of the former walled city. Finally\, visit the Hau Wong Temple and the Stonehouses to conclude the journey. \nStart time \nWalking Tour: There are two starting times available\, starting at 0830 and 0845.\nRunning Tour: There are three starting times available\, starting at 0900\, 0915 and 0930. During enrollment\, please indicate your preferred starting time. \nWalking group A: 0830 am\nWalking group B: 0845 am\nRunning group C: 0900 am\nRunning group D: 0915 am\nRunning group E: 0930 am \n\nDetail of the heritage run (walking) \n\n\n\n\n\nDistance: 7km\n\n\nTiming: ～3 hours\nTarget participants: Open to anyone who can walk continuously for 6km\nRemarks: The route maybe slightly shortened depending on the situation\n  \nDetail of the heritage run (Route 2 running)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDistance: 7km\n\n\nTiming: ～2.5 hours (with an average pace of 8-10 mins/km)\nTarget participants: Individuals aged 16 and above with running experience\nDifficulty: Challenging\, with some trails and uphill sections (Participants should have the stamina to finish a 10K run)\n  \nCost\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipation in the event is free of charge.
