SUMMARY:Northern Metropolis Route 2 (17 Nov\, 2024\, Sunday)
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Kam Sheung Road MTR Station\, passes through Kat Hing Wai\, learns about the history of the villages in Kam Tin\, and then visits the Yi Tai Study Hall\, which was once the highest institution of learning in Kam Tin\, and then visits the major buildings of the Kam Tin Tang Clan\, including Tang Kwong U Ancestral Hall\, Tang Tsing Lok Ancestral Hall\, Lik Wing Tong Study Hall\, etc. After that\, you will pass by the Kam Tin Tree House\, then cross the Kam Tin River\, go to Yuen Long Old Village to learn about the history and architecture of the old village\, and then go to the vicinity of Wang Chau to visit the Yu Yuen\, which was once the filming location for many Hong Kong films\, and the I Shing Temple\, a declared monument. Finally\, we passed through the Tin Hau Temple in Fung Chi Tsuen and the Lung Wah Yuen\, which used to be a nunnery\, and the end at the old Ping Shan Police Station\, which is now the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery Cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre. \nStart time \nWalking Tour: Starting at 08:30.\nRunning Tour: There are two starting times available\, starting at 08:45 and 09:00 . During the enrollment\, please indicate your preferred starting time. \nWalking group A: 0830 am\nRunning group B: 0845 am\nRunning group C: 0900 am \nDetail of the heritage run (Route 2 Walking) \n\nDistance: 9km\nTiming: ～2.5 hours\nTarget participants: Open to anyone who can walk continuously for 9km\nRemarks: The route maybe slightly shortened depending on the situation \n\nDetail of the heritage run (Route 2 Running) \n\nDistance: 10km\nTiming: ～3 hours (with an average pace of 8-10 mins/km)\nTarget participants: Individuals aged 16 and above with running experience\nDifficulty: Challenging\, with some uphill sections (participants should have the ability to complete a 10KM race) \nCost\nParticipation in the event is free of charge. However\, all participants are required to pay a deposit of $100 by credit card\, which will be refunded after attending the event. Please note that the deposit will not be refunded if a participant fails to inform the organizer of their absence within 24 hours prior to the event. \n\nDonation\nKTSI is committed to promote community sports for Hong Kong by organizing various sports event and activities. DESCRIPTION:Departing from Wong Tao Sin Temple\, passing through the demolishing Chuk Yuen Heung\, the route goes to Chi Lin Nunnery. Then heading to Choi Hung Estate to feel the HK old days\, the route carry on to Ngau Chi Wan Heung and climb the Fu Shan. Going back down to Bun Ha Tung to understand the “Sin Tin Dao” temple design. Finally a steep climb to Chi Wan Shan Kwun Yam temple to finish. \nGathering time \nParticipants need to arrive 15 minutes earlier\, late comer will not be accommodated. \nWalking group A: 0830\nWalking group B: 0845\nWalking group C: 0900\nRunning group D: 0900\nRunning group E: 0915\nRunning group F: 0930 \nDetail of walking tour \n\nDistance: 4.5km\nTiming: ～2.5 hours\nTarget participants: Open to anyone who can walk continuously for 5km\nRemarks: The route involves lots of stairs and uphill\, quite challenging \n\nDetail of running tour \n\nDistance: 7km\nTiming: ～3.5 hours (with an average pace of 8-10 mins/km)\nTarget participants: Individuals aged 16 and above with running experience\nDifficulty: Challenging\, with lots of upstairs and uphill sections (Participants should have the stamina to finish a 10KM running race) \nCost\nParticipation in the event is free of charge. However\, all participants are required to pay a deposit of $100 by credit card\, which will be refunded after attending the event.
